Happy puppy learning about gentle dog grooming

Puppy Academy

Introducing grooming tools and processes gradually is crucial for establishing a foundation of trust and positive experiences that last a lifetime for our furry companions. Just like humans, animals can be sensitive to new sensations and environments. By taking a slow and gentle approach to grooming, we build a bond of understanding and cooperation between pet and owner. Starting with simple tools and short sessions, we allow our pets to acclimate to the sensations and sounds associated with grooming. This gradual introduction helps mitigate anxiety and fear, fostering a positive attitude towards grooming activities. As trust deepens, grooming becomes a shared experience that enhances the overall well-being of the pet and reinforces the human-animal connection. In the long run, this positive foundation contributes to a lifetime of stress-free grooming and a happier, healthier relationship between pets and their caregivers.

Rescue learning to overcome fear of water and fear of grooming tools

Grooming Academy

Facilitating positive interactions between dogs and grooming tools is essential for their overall well-being and the grooming experience. Dogs may initially perceive grooming tools as unfamiliar or intimidating objects, leading to anxiety and stress. By gradually introducing these tools in a supportive environment, accompanied by positive reinforcement, we enable dogs to understand and feel comfortable with the grooming process. Establishing trust and positive associations early on helps alleviate any apprehension, making grooming a more enjoyable experience for both the dog and the owner. This mutual understanding enhances the bond between pets and their caregivers, ensuring that grooming sessions are not only effective in maintaining the dog's hygiene but also contribute to a positive and stress-free relationship, fostering a sense of security and comfort for our canine companions.

During the Orientation session we will assess if your dog is able to tolerate a full grooming session and we will then be able to offer any grooming services needed for the well-being of your dog. These services are tailer-made to the needs of your dog based of breed, size and health concerns.

Orientation session

During our orientation session at Happy Grooming, we’ll take the time to get to know you and your dog, and evaluate their comfort level with grooming. This first meeting is crucial to setting a baseline and ensuring the best experience for your furry friend. We’ll discuss your preferences and tailor our services to your dog’s unique needs. This is a great opportunity to set expectations and create a grooming plan together based on your puppy's needs and comfort.

MH helped us so much grooming our Jindo. He hates baths and getting his nails clipped, but she helped him overcome his fears and allows her to do both! She took the time to understand how to accommodate his anxiousness and our grooming expectations. Highly Recommend!
